In the picturesque town of Lumby, BC, Aspen Lands Advisory emerged onto the scene in 2017. James and the team at Aspen bring a wealth of expertise in the land development industry, spanning from crafting master-planned communities to the intricate realms of civil engineering and service design, to development management and consultancy.

Over the years, we’ve been dedicated to supporting municipalities through the intricate development review processes and collaborating on a variety of planning exercises alongside dedicated staff, innovative developers, and passionate landowners. Our commitment to excellence and growth didn’t stop there.

Fast forward to September 2022, a pivotal moment in our journey. We proudly welcomed Erika Kretchmer to the firm as the Vice President of Operations, reinforcing our mission to provide top-tier advisory services. Since then, our firm’s growth has been nothing short of remarkable.

Today, we’re a dynamic team of professionals, with Tobi McNeil, Sr. Real Estate Advisor and Development Manager, Stephanie Leforte as our Project Manager & Administrator and Nadia Berg as our Project Coordinator. James Kay, P.Eng

James Kay brings 22 years of land use expertise, project management and civil engineering experience in a wide range of land development and municipal engineering assignments. Combining technical expertise with a client focused approach to responsive and accountable project management, James brings experience as an Approving Officer, City Engineer and Land Development Consultant for site plans and subdivisions, road and infrastructure upgrades, master servicing studies, neighbourhood concept plans, and development applications relating to residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects across the country.

Erika Kretchmer

Erika has over 3 years of residential development experience, managing land development projects and application processes for multiple subdivisions in Manitoba and BC. She is dedicated to ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget, and to holding all project proponents accountable. Erika finds fulfillment in the fast paced nature of her role at the firm, where she manages business development and drives progress and outcomes for the business and our clients. Recently obtaining her real estate license, she adds another valuable skillset to both the team and our clients.

By leveraging Tobi McNeil’s big picture thinking, business acumen, experience, industry knowledge and local contacts, her clients enjoy overall success of their projects from beginning to end. Her extensive business career includes land development, property management, supply chain management, college instructor and writer/author. Tobi’s kind, open and honest approach to communication, dedication, and transparency emerges into excellent leadership skills and understanding of key decision making of how to get things done and why.

Stephanie Leforte

Stephanie brings over 20 years of experience in Administration, Operations, and Logistics. With a diverse background in Media, Construction, and Water Management, she offers a unique perspective and is deeply committed to supporting both our team and our clients. In addition to her strong administrative capabilities, Stephanie actively fosters open lines of communication, creating a collaborative environment, fostering relationships and establishing rapport with stakeholders. Throughout her career, Stephanie has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to excellence and she thrives in meeting diverse demands to achieve shared objectives.

Nadia Berg

Nadia has been working in various aspects of Administration, Operations, and Management in the last 25 years. Her recent education at UBC Okanagan, majoring in Human and Physical Geography offers a broad view of urban planning and community development in the Okanagan. Fostering relationships with clients, stakeholders and her team are top priority along with ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in her work. Nadia is passionate about sustainable development and enjoys looking at alternative and innovative solutions for both her clients and her team.
